Switch to Linux – Australia
Give your computer new life by switching to Linux.
Even a computer up to 15 years old can still be fast, safe, and useful for everyday tasks like browsing, email, documents, and more.
Why throw out your computer just because Microsoft says you need a new one?
Why throw away a perfectly good machine when Linux can keep it running smoothly for years to come?
Why Linux?
🚀 No Viruses – Stay safe without expensive antivirus.
🚀 No Forced Updates – You’re in control, not your computer.
🚀 No Subscription Fees – 100% free, forever.
🚀 No Forced Cloud Storage – Your files stay with you.
🚀 No Forced AI – Just you and your computer, the way it should be.
Linux is fast, free, and yours forever.
Everyday App Alternatives
Switching doesn’t mean losing what you’re used to.
Here are some free Linux apps that replace expensive software:

Outlook → Thunderbird (Free)
-
Google Chrome → Already Compatible (no need for alternatives)
-
Google Search → Already Compatible (no need for alternatives)

And just like your phone or tablet, Linux has an App Store where you can download thousands of free apps.
👉 Can’t find the app you’re looking for?
Go to the app’s official website and download it directly.
Choose Your Style
Worried that Linux will feel too different? Don’t be.
You can choose a style you’re already familiar with,
so your computer feels comfortable from the very first day:
-
Windows Classic look → Use Linux Lite
-
Windows 10 look → Use Zorin OS
-
Windows 11 look → Use AnduinOS
You get the power of Linux, with the familiar style you prefer.

Common Questions
Q: I am happy with Windows 10 — why do I need to switch to Linux?
A: Windows 10 will reach end of life in October 2025. That means it will no longer get security updates from Microsoft. Over time it will become more and more dangerous to use for sensitive things like online banking, shopping, social media (like Facebook), and email. Linux provides a safe, up-to-date alternative so you can keep using your computer securely.
Q: If I use Linux can I make a Word document and email it to someone using Windows and Microsoft Office?
A: Yes! With OnlyOffice you can create Word files (called .docx) that work perfectly with Microsoft Word. You can then email them using Gmail in Chrome, or with another email service like Bigpond in Thunderbird. The person on Windows can open it just like any other Word file. They can also send you Word documents back, and you’ll be able to open and edit them on Linux with no problem.
Q: Will I be able to send photos and files from my phone to Linux without having to email them to myself?
A: Yes! As part of the setup I’ll install apps called Tailscale and KDE Connect (available for both Android and iPhone). These let you share files between your phone and your computer — even if you’re outside your house and your computer is at home (as long as it’s turned on).
Q: Will I be able to view files on my hard drive that I used on Windows?
A: Yes! Linux is fully compatible with hard drives that were used on Windows — this format is called NTFS. As long as you have an app that can open the file type, you’ll be fine. For example, Word files open in OnlyOffice, and photos open in the built-in image viewer.
Q: What do I do if I have a problem after I booked the Pro Install?
A: If something goes wrong shortly after the installation, take a photo of the screen and send it to my phone number. Also send the ID number and password for RustDesk (which I’ll set up on your desktop during the install). This will let me log in remotely and fix the issue. Please note: this remote support is only for problems that come up soon after the installation. If you have general questions or want to learn how to do something new, you can book a tutorial session.
Q: Can I play games on Linux?
A: It depends on the game. Many gaming devices, like the Steam Deck, already run Linux and are compatible with a lot of current and older games. You can check the website ProtonDB to see if the game you want to play works on Linux. Please note that your computer still needs to meet the hardware requirements the game was designed for, even if you’re using Linux.
